Your upgrade options for your Mac will depend on its model and year. older macs with sata-type “spinny” hard drives can be upgraded to the new faster SSD drive, and upgrading the RAM can make a huge difference in speed for the mac. Sadly, it’s not all good news. As newer Macs have been released, Apple has started to solder on the RAM chips and hard drives to the logic board to stop us from upgrading them. It is still possible to upgrade storage and RAM on newer Macs, but in most cases, it is not economically viable. I am regularly asked to both upgrade and downgrade Mac OS versions for people. Apple, as a standard, only supports the last 3 years of Mac OS for any Mac, so as time goes by and you find yourself stuck on an outdated Mac OS, I can upgrade any Mac of any year to any Mac OS, even bringing back new life to old 2010 Macbooks and Imacs by upgrading their hard drive RAM and installing the latest Mac OS software.
I also get asked a lot to downgrade Mac OS versions as people find they prefer older versions, or sometimes the software they use will only work on older versions of Mac OS.
